01 / ABOUT THE PLACE

About this place

At Saizeriya, it is easy to build a meal from a few small plates, followed by a main course and a drink. To begin, try the warm salad of tender green peas, described on the menu as naturally sweet, or spicy chicken baked in the oven. Escargots baked in the oven are another option; the menu highlights their fermented-butter aroma and rich flavour. Start light, or choose something a little different.

Diners have ordered small shrimp salad, buffalo mozzarella caprese, spicy chicken, onion soup and hamburg steak Diavola-style. Adding an appetiser or soup before a main course makes it easy to shape the meal, and sharing several small plates gives a group more options. For a main, consider the beef 100% hamburg steak, served with rice and a choice of sauce. The vegetable sauce for the Diavola-style version is described as fresh-tasting, while the onion sauce draws on the sweetness of onion and savoury chicken flavour, making it a good match for rice. The sauce can change the character of the same hamburg steak. For pasta or doria, there is spaghetti with tarako sauce, or doria with tarako and popcorn shrimp. Both come with salad; the doria is described as having a cream-croquette-like flavour.

To accompany the meal, the drinks list includes wine by the glass and red or white wine by the bottle, as well as an all-you-can-drink option. For dessert, choose coffee jelly with milk gelato, balancing sweetness and bitterness to taste, or tiramisu made with mascarpone and Savoiardi biscuits. It is easy to shape the meal around your mood, dessert included.

The restaurant is presented as suitable for solo diners as well as groups, and has baby chairs and a children’s menu. With choices spanning lunch and brunch through to dinner, the range of dishes makes it easy to decide when to stop in.
